Griffons were spread around Czech Republic not only between 1918 – 1939. Already in 1903 the magazine „Svet Zvirat“ mentioned that these dogs are really interesting and that you can find them at the show held in Prague. After WWII Griffons disappered from Czechoslovakia. Their time to come back comes in the 80`s by Mr. Frantisek Penicka`s importing the first female of Griffon Bruxellois DEBBY von Lustigen Kleeblatt from Germany.

Our national kennel was established in 1983 (28. 10.) and took the name “WALMISS CS”. Our first dog to breed was Golden retriever female miss Golden Araukarity CS. Nowadays we have an international kennel “Mawpet” established on 15. 7. 1996.

First idea of breeding Griffons came when my daughter visited her friends and saw a Griffon. He treated friendly with her despite the fact he has never seen her before.

And so the whole thing began.

After seeking for some info we bought the first female puppy of Griffon Amalka z Polabské doliny CZ, born 29.7. 1993. We bought also a female of Griffon Bruxellois Brenda Maly poutnik. After a short period of time we visited Mr. Penicka and saw Judy Kompas Rose – Brabancon. It took one week of hanging on the telephone to persuade Mr. Penicka to sell her to us. Having three females we`ve started seeking for a male. We brought him in 1995 from Netherlands from Mr. Jan den Otter. His name is Leo Belgicus Napo-Leon.

This changed our life completely. We`ve started to visit dog shows having a lot of fun, show succes and new friends around Europe.
